My wife put the car into pit stop for its first mot and an annual service, Vw t-roc having done 39.5k miles. She was contacted with a list of things needing done, saying that they would all cause the car to fail the mot. A bit shocked at just how extensive the list was for a fairly new car with mid range miles. We were quoted just over 1400 which is probably a fair price but whether all the work was required is another issue. I think many of the faults were perhaps only advisory and it would have passed and we could have got the work done bit by bit as the year went on, rather than being hit with quite a substantial cost in one hit. I was then contacted to say he couldn't get the new abs sensor to connect properly, he advised he was using an after market sensor and would need an original vw part which would cost an additional £95. I accepted this. However when my wife picked up the car the cost had risen from £1417 to £1652. The other work done was service, 2 budget tyres, front & back brake pads/discs, front shocks (as he said we had hit a pot hole but offered no photographic evidence of the damaged parts). My wife sent me a copy of the invoice and there was descriptions but not break down of costs for parts/labour etc, despite me asking. I also thought i would have been offered a full report showing the suggested mot failures. Graham the owner did communicate with us throughout about expected costs and we did approve the work - the main issue I have is the cost quoted for the abs sensor but I can only guess that he will say it was actually 2 we required and they were 95 each plus vat (THIS WAS NOT QUOTED BEFOREHAND) On speaking to other local people who have used the pit stop, most have the same view that its a place to be avoided and there are far better places locally. Reviews on bookmygarage seem to be pretty positive, less so on Google. I have used pit stop previously for basic service and tyres and didn't have any problems, although my wife had an issue at the old premises many years ago with a locking wheel nut that mysteriously disappeared. Disappointed in the service received this time and as a result won't use pit stop again.

I’d like to thank The Pit Stop Johnstone for their help. They assisted me with an unexpected breakdown, recovered my car, and fixed it. Huge thanks to Nathan! I’ll definitely come back to this garage again.

Highly recommend. The dude that runs the place is a very good communicator. Work done to the highest standard with reasonable prices. Had bad experiences with garages in the past but Pit Stop have been nothing but honest with me. Will definitely go back and recommend to my family. Finally, the wee staffie is a cutie pie. 10/10

Had 2 tyres fitted today (Jaguar) plus the guys got me out of a pickle by going out of their way to collect the new tyres from another premises - Thank you! The actual premises are a Little out of the way in the back, more industrial area of Johnstone but it's a garage after all, so to be expected. Quick, efficient service, very friendly and chatty team. I got a good feeling for the place. I will return. Thanks again Pit Stop

I cannot recommend Pit Stop highly enough. After buying my 2017 Land Rover Discovery just over a year ago, I've had nothing but problems with it from the day I purchased it. During its MOT, it failed due to an exhaust flexi issue. The garage carrying out the MOT couldn't source the required part and advised me to try elsewhere. I contacted Pit Stop, who initially offered to get the vehicle on the ramp and see if the existing flexi could be repaired by welding. Once they investigated further, they discovered there were actually two flexis needing attention – a front and a middle section – not just the one originally identified. The team went above and beyond trying to find a solution. They attempted repairs, ordered four different replacement parts, removed the entire exhaust system to test fitments, and even contacted Land Rover directly for advice. The only option Land Rover could offer would have cost me thousands of pounds. Instead of giving up, the team continued searching for an alternative. They travelled to East Kilbride to work with a specialist exhaust fabricator who custom-made a new flexi specifically for my vehicle. Pit Stop then fitted it and got everything sorted. What impressed me most was their honesty, persistence, and communication throughout the entire process. They kept me fully informed every step of the way, explaining what they were doing and why. Although the final bill was more than I had originally expected, it was a fraction of what I could have ended up paying if they hadn't put so much effort into finding a practical solution. They only charged me for the two flexis and the custom-made part, despite the significant amount of extra work, time, and effort involved. A huge thank you to everyone at Pit Stop. Outstanding service, excellent communication, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy garage.
